Difficulty Day #3: Quarry Project
This past weekend we had our third difficulty, as we wrapped up shift #3 (from whole to a part). This shift emphasized how boys in this world regardless of age believe the world revolves around them and they are the whole. But in the gospel we studied the life of John the Baptist and how he simply was obedient in playing his Part in God’s story.
We partnered with some amazing people from the Quarry Project. Connor and his team put on a father-son retreat for local dads in the area. Our Saturday was filled with shooting, fishing, outdoor games, hobo dinners, along with loads of laughter and intentionality. Brody and Rhett were the only ones who could make it, but they did more than enough, with Connor commenting multiple times that they were 3 guys in 1. The boys got to serve lunch, dinner, put a grill together, took several trips across the river in rangers, and even got in the river to judge the boat race! They were also in charge of entertaining the kids while the dads sat under the tent after dinner to hear from the keynote speaker.
